This new operator utilizes a dual-motor solution featuring series DC motors—models GR63x55 (40 V DC) and GR63x25 (24 V DC)—equipped with an optical encoder and an SG80 gear reducer. We decided to focus on the most reliable product on the market, one capable of ensuring peak performance.
The EN 16005 standard for doors used on escape routes states: “The safety-related part of the control system
must achieve Performance Level (PL) ‘d’ in accordance with EN 13849-1.” This requirement is met when the door opens
in the direction of escape (normally the exit).
The POWERCORE ER140 control unit operates with the GR63x55 motor; the backup unit monitors and supervises leaf movement, activating solely as a “passive” safety measure and functioning only in emergencies.
During normal operation, the back-up unit performs a test cycle every 24 hours (two opening cycles); however, the test cycle is not performed in the event of a nightly lockout (LOCK mode).
After normal operation is restored following the nightly shutdown (transition from LOCK to SAFE), the door performs a test cycle.
In the event of a power outage, the system performs a new test as soon as power is restored.
